It’s amazing to me how many “ear to the ground” folks I know have spent so ugh time posting about Beyoncé but still aren’t spreading awareness about #kendrickjohnson . This 17 year old #blackboy was killed on school grounds in #Valdosta Georgia and everyone from the school to the cops to the coroner to the funeral home to the media is complicit in the #coverup . #CNN has been the only news outlet that has followed the story and tried to get the family some answers. HELLO PEOPLE this #blackbody is symbolic of how we as #blackpeople are still seen. THEY FILLED HIS BODY WITH NEWSPAPER! Look at his face! They tried to say he only suffocated?! How when he looks like #emmettill ?! If you can post about how wonderful Beyoncé is or anything else THEN SURELY you can share this story and spread awareness. The coverup is only working because people aren’t informed. The more people know, the more pressure can be put on the town. The US Attorney and FBI are involved but it’s not enough. Where are his rallies? His songs? His poems? Why is his image not being shared across the country? Across the world? Where is the #outrage
Oh my God. Bless his soul
Really look up this case. Ridiculous man. & if it was an accident like the police and the coroner are saying it is, why were all his finger nails ripped off like someone was trying to hide something. CRAZY man. Rest in peace, son.

OWN YOUR HISTORY WHITE FOLKS
THIS IS NOT WHITE HISTORY. THIS IS LITERALLY EVERYONE’S HISTORY. THIS HAPPENED IN THE PAST OF THE WORLD THAT LITERALLY EVERYONE LIVES IN.
This happened because of WHITE PEOPLE WHO ARE CLEARLY STANDING IN THE BACKGROUND SMILING AND POSING!! Try again honey!
The first slave owner in America was a black man, so it could be argued that he started slavery in America.
Receipts nigga? What year? What was his name? His occupation? His status? Because if one black man owns a slave than a whole country full of white men have to benefit huh?
It’s not “white history” it’s not even black history. Countries everywhere had slaves. Some still do. and “owning up” to something our great-great-great-grandfathers MAY HAVE been apart of is pretty ridiculous. I’m white and have no idea where my ancestors are from. what’s shown in the pictures are tragic and truthful to what has happened in the past. Leave it at that and don’t guilt innocent people of the 21st century into believing this is their fault or that they have ANYTHING to do with slavery in the United States. Because if you read into the facts and actually learned about how the US specific slavery began, you would be pretty fucking depressed to know the truth of that. Out generations have nothing to do with that. and you can’t pin this on ALL white people. Go fuck yourself.
I can and have. White people benefitted tremendously from the enslavement of my ancestors so how about you go fuck yourself.

Nick Cannon is speaking up about the current state of African-Americans in Hollywood. He, along with several other Black actors, are tired of movies like “Django Unchained, Lincoln, The Butler and “12 Years a Slave(The list can go on and on).” Within about a year’s time span, these FOUR box office Slave Movies have hit the silver screen … with a fifth reportedly in the making.
"Why don’t they make movies about our African kings & queens? #OurHistory I would love to see a film about Akhenaton and his beautiful wife Queen Nefertiti! Or Cetewayo, a King who was a war hero. Im about to drive to my office RIGHT NOW and start the development! New Hollywood Trend, Black King and Queen films! Starring Black People!!" #NoDisrespectToElizabethTaylor.”
I have to agree. I’m sick of the slave narrative. We have a richer history than what happened to us in the US.
Part of the issue is that we aren’t thoroughly educated on our past. We don’t know our roots. We know we came from Africa and a lot of us could probably name some of the more famous countries but how many of us really know African history? How many of us have any idea of where we MIGHT have come from on the continent?
We weren’t just slaves. We were kings and queens and ambassadors and businessmen and businesswomen. We were artisans and engineers.
We still ARE all of those things!
But I can still recognize that the reason we keep seeing all these slave stories is because there is a power system in place that wants to keep our minds in chains. So long as they keep broadcasting across the country and the world the stories of our bondage the way they have so far, all we’ll ever see in our history is slavery.
who knew Nick Cannon had valid thoughts
Queerness, to me, is about far more than homosexual attraction. It’s about a willingness to see all other taboos broken down. Sure, many of us start on this path when we first feel “same sex” or “same gender” attraction (though what is sex? And what is gender? And does anyone really have the same sex or gender as anyone else?). But queerness doesn’t stop there.
This is a somewhat controversial stance, but to me queer means something completely different than “gay” or “lesbian” or “bisexual.” A queer person is usually someone who has come to a non-binary view of gender, who recognizes the validity of all trans identities, and who, given this understanding of infinite gender possibilities, finds it hard to define their sexuality any longer in a gender-based way. Queer people understand and support non-monogamy even if they do not engage in it themselves. They can grok being asexual or aromantic. (What does sex have to do with love, or love with sex, necessarily?) A queer can view promiscuous (protected) public bathhouse sex with strangers and complete abstinence as equally healthy.
Queers understand that people have different relationships to their bodies. We get what it means to be stone. We know what body dysphoria is about. We understand that not everyone likes to get touched the same way or to get touched at all. We realize that people with disabilities may have different sexual needs, and that people with survivor histories often have sexual triggers. We can negotiate safe and creative ways to be intimate with people with HIV/AIDs and other STIs.
Queers understand the range of power and sensation and the diversity of sexual dynamics. We are tops and bottoms, doms and subs, sadists and masochists and sadomasochists, versatiles and switches. We know what we like and don’t like in bed.
We embrace a wide range of relationship types. We can be partners, lovers, friends with benefits, platonic sweethearts, chosen family. We can have very different dynamics with different people, often all at once. We don’t expect one person to be able to fulfill all our diverse needs, fantasies and ideals indefinitely.
Because our views on relationships, sex, gender, love, bodies, and family are so unconventional, we are of necessity anti-assimilationist. Because under the kyriarchy we suffer, and watch the people we love suffering, we are political. Because we want to survive, we fight. We only want the freedom to be ourselves, love ourselves, love each other, and live together. Because we are routinely denied that, we are pissed.
Queer doesn’t mean “don’t label me,” it means “I am naming myself.” It means “ask me more questions if you curious” and in the same breath means “fuck off.”
At least, that is what it means to me.
